Contemporary music is often rather difficult to convey. The article shows examples of how schools, music schools and ensembles are cooperating to accomplish this task in Freiburg (youth music project "Hör mal!"/"Listen!"), Detmold and Frankfurt. They typically aim to integrate institutions and create synergy effects between them, involving students of music pedagogy, musicians and pupils alike in practical tasks, usually leading to shared public performances. Ideally, the outcome is a triple win/win situation: ensembles learn more about music mediation, music students gain experience with contemporary music, and pupils get to create their own projects.
