Die elementare Streichermethode (ESM) ist eine innovative Lehr- und Lernmethode für den modernen Streicherunterricht auf der Grundlage der relativen Solmisation. Spiele, Aktionen, Lieder und Musikstücke ermöglichen den spielerischen Erwerb musikalischer, rhythmischer und technischer Grundkenntnisse.
Die kindgemäße Gestaltung unterstreicht den Spielcharakter der Methode. Eingängige Symbole, Bilder, Zeichnungen, kurze Texte und "Prüflisten" regen den Schüler zur Selbständigkeit beim Ausprobieren der verschiedenen Aufgabenstellungen und zu selbst verantworteter Lernkontrolle an.
Die ESM ist anwendbar im Rahmen der musikalischen Früherziehung und kann problemlos in jeden Instrumentalunterricht übernommen werden. Sie eignet sich besonders für den Unterricht in Gruppen.
