Description
6 well-known themes from Mozart's 'Magic Flute', in easy arrangements by Beethoven's teacher C.G. Neefe - with these three names, we are right in the middle of Viennese Classicism. The authentic arrangements characteristic of the time deal with the themes 'Der Vogelfänger bin ich ja', 'Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen', 'Soll ich dich Teurer nicht mehr sehen?', 'Das klinget so herrlich', 'Ein Mädchen oder Weibchen', 'Klinget, Glöckchen, klinget'. Neefe became court organist of the Archbishop of Cologne in 1782. Assigned to him as a 'vicar' was the young Beethoven whom Neefe taught piano playing and composition until the beginning of 1784. Neefe recognized the extraordinary talent of Beethoven and was the first to compare him to Mozart.
