The Minute Tristan for 12 Pianists This paraphrase of Richard Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde was composed and performed in a sensational manner on the occasion of the reopening of the Munich Prinzregententheater on 8 November 1996: In only six minutes, Wagner’s epic is presented as a mixture of tango, ragtime and waltz in an amusing and provocative way. This "shortened popular version" was initiated by the general artistic director August Everding who produced Tristan for the reopening and to whom this composition has been dedicated.
